What We Do.

Picture
The St. Vincent de Paul Society of Marinette offers tangible assistance to those in need on a person-to-person basis. It is this personalized involvement that makes the work of the Society unique. This aid may take the form of intervention, consultation, or often through direct dollar or in-kind services like our food pantry. An essential principle of the Society's work is to provide help while conscientiously maintaining the confidentiality and dignity of those who are served. The Society recognizes that it must assume, also, a role of advocacy for those who are defenseless or voiceless.

Getting Ahead Program

"Getting Ahead in a Just-Gettin'-By World" is a 15-16 session workshop series providing tools and support to individuals motivated to get out of poverty. Working in a group-learning environment, you will investigate your experience of poverty, as well as the impact within your community, providing critical information to take action to end poverty.
You will also learn that money is only one of 11 resources used to define poverty. Learn how these resources affect your life and the lives of your family. By examining the resources you have versus the resources you need, you will be able to formulate a personal plan, based on goals, to get out of poverty.
